446 signaturesOn October 15th, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom -- who is already running for Governor in 2018 -- announced a new, cynical ballot initiative that would only ensure California becomes even more extreme on the issue of restrictive gun laws.
You can be sure I'll be fighting this initiative, but I won't be able to do it alone. If you're willing to be part of the effort to oppose this nakedly political ballot measure, please sign up below and pass this along to a friend.
You can bet the opposition will be well-supported by the same anti-gun cast of characters we always see -- but if we stay organized and dedicated, we can defeat this initiative -- possibly even before it even qualifies for the ballot.
There they go again.
If you haven’t already heard, Democratic legislators have introduced a bill that would dilute the taxpayer protections found in Proposition 13—the voter-approved and consistently popular ballot measure that has limited property tax increases.
Their proposal would call for a “split-roll”, which means that commercial properties would be exempt from Proposition 13 protection. The result would be significant property tax increases.
Just what California needs: another tax increase on businesses.
It’s unacceptable. We need to do everything in our power to keep businesses open in California – not give them another roadblock to success.
Fortunately, Democrats in the legislature will need a 2/3 vote in both the Senate and the Assembly in order to put this proposal on the ballot for voter approval. In order to do so, they’ll need Republicans to vote for the proposal.
Please add your name to this list demanding that my fellow Republicans stand strong and hold the line against this proposed tax increase.
